Dr. Winfred Sanders – NETA SCIENTIFIC

Dr. Winfred J. Sanders, Co-Founder and President of Neta Scientific, Inc., began his career at GSK as a senior scientist before being promoted to the position of Director of Pharmacokinetic Studies in Animal Health. After five years at GSK, he joined Hewlett Packard as their Global Application Manager in Marketing. Dr. Sanders advanced to the position of Global GM-Consumable Products, leading the business plans and strategies of R&D, Manufacturing, and Marketing, until his resignation in 1999.

At the start of 2000, he and his wife, Garnetta, opened the doors to their new business, Neta Scientific, Inc., which through their leadership, has quickly positioned itself as a leading distributor of laboratory supplies and solutions. Dr. Sanders earned a B.S. in Chemistry from North Carolina Central University and completed his graduate studies at Princeton and Rutgers Universities, earning a master’s and Ph.D.,
in Bio-Organic Chemistry, respectively. He is very active with several social and religious organizations that help to empower young
people and support economic entrepreneurship initiatives.

Dr. Susan Begelman – GENENTECH

Dr. Susan Begelman is Vice President of the Neuroscience, Non-malignant Hematology, Influenza, and Established Products Medical Unit in US Medical Affairs at Genentech. In this role, Dr. Begelman provides scientific leadership for a department responsible for generating and executing medical strategies, data generation, and scientific exchange across this broad portfolio.

Dr. Begelman is widely regarded as a respected leader with an unwavering commitment to patients.
She has over thirteen years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Since joining Genentech in 2008, Dr. Begelman has overseen product development activities and provided oversight of medical launch strategies and phase 3b/4 trials for cardiovascular, neuroscience, rare disease, and stroke programs.

In 2018 Dr. Begelman was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Genentech Foundation and is the co-chair of Genentech’s External Steering Committee for Advancing Inclusive Research. Prior to joining the biopharmaceutical industry, she had an inpatient and outpatient practice as a vascular medicine physician in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic where she also served as the Medical Director for its Noninvasive Vascular Laboratory.

Dr. Begelman received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and her Medical Doctorate from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in vascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Begelman is a fellow of the Society for Vascular Medicine for which she was a Committee Chair and held elected positions as a Board of Trustees Member, Secretary, and Treasurer. She is also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
