Join us as we break down the impact and innovations surrounding the nation’s epic fight against the growing opioid crisis. We’ll hear personal stories from those who have struggled with addiction. Leaders within the community and the pharmaceutical industry come together to discuss their role in a shared mission to end opioid misuse.


Amy BaumgardnerAmy Baumgardner – Author and Certified Recovery Coach
Amy co-authored her first book, From This Day Forward, A Love Story of Faith, Hope and Forgiveness, through HCI Books, September 2014 with her husband Matt. Amy had the incredible opportunity to share her story with the world as a guest on Oprah Winfrey’s Life Class with Iyanla Vanzant. Since that time, Amy has spoken at various conferences, seminars and workshops on the power of owning your story. Through patience and grace, Amy continues her journey through recovery and hopes to bring the message forward. Amy is a Certified Recovery Coach and currently works as a Recovery Support Program director for a local Health Department.


Tommy BergesTommy Begres, FNP/MSN/EMTP-IC, Director, Clinical Affairs
Tommy serves as Director of Clinical Affairs for Adapt Pharma and has spent the last seven years working to combat the opioid-epidemic. Additionally, Dir. Begres has over 20 years in Fire/EMS service and continues active duties as a Firefighter/Paramedic with a fulltime department located in the Detroit suburbs. In November of 2018, Dir. Begres received the Homeland Security Investigations Partnership Award for his work identifying countermeasures to mitigate risk and protect field operatives on the front line fighting to curb the trafficking of illicit drugs throughout the United States. Before leading the Clinical Affairs Division for Adapt Dir. Begres worked in Biologic Clinical Access at Johnson & Johnson, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Glaxo Smith Kline. Dir. Begres holds a Masters of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Madonna University.


Beth CrouseBeth Crouse – Co-founder and Managing Partner, 2nd Spark
Beth Crouse’s passionate pursuit to push the boundaries in the healthcare space has been the driving force behind the creation of compelling customer engagement strategies and innovative products for the clients she serves. As a firm believer in the importance of customer experience, Beth ensures her team employs an agile approach to marketing to address the evolving needs of customers in the ever-changing healthcare landscape.


Anthony PerezAnthony Perez – Regional Healthcare Director, Walgreens
Anthony Perez is the Walgreens Regional Healthcare Director covering California. In this position Anthony is responsible for leading all pharmacy and healthcare services in the region. Prior to his current role Anthony led Walgreens Community Based Specialty Pharmacies in the Los Angeles area. A native of New Jersey, Anthony received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Purdue University in 2002. Anthony is a member of ASHP and CPHA. Anthony resides in Temecula, CA with his wife Julianne and two sons.


Erica RubachErica Rubach – Founder of Emme Solutions, Partner – Content Marketing, Al Roker Entertainment
Erica has 20 years of experience in the media industry with an almost exclusive focus on developing campaigns and programming that support cause related initiatives. With both corporate and entrepreneurial experience, she held senior leadership positions at NBC Universal, both locally and nationally, and founded 3 small businesses- MomSpace, 1080 Communications and EMME Solutions. Erica’s work has always been driven by her passion for helping others, including the development of multi-media campaigns to combat the opioid crisis, child hunger in the US, public educator recognition and school supply drives, adoption for kids with special needs, military veterans issues, and providing free legal services for abused and neglected children, among many others. She specializes in connecting non-profit organizations with corporate sponsors to provide campaign funding and support, establishing media partnerships and producing award winning creative to deliver the message when and where it will drive change.


Patrick WebbPatrick Webb – Certified Recovery Coach, Registered Peer Support Specialist and Recovery Advocate
Patrick has been a person in long term recovery since March 15th 2013. He has co-facilitated training efforts surrounding ethics, wellness, education and advocacy for the Peer Recovery Movement within the state of Maryland. Patrick partners with local advocacy groups and community-based organizations to provide treatment services. He is considered the frontline of defense advocating for individuals within correctional institutions, homeless encampments and emergency rooms across the state. Patrick is a contributing author to Hope Dealer, A collection of Inspirational and Motivational Recovery Journeys.
