President’s Letter – October 2019

Hello DA4S Members, Stakeholders and Sponsors

I am incredibly excited to officially begin my term as President of Diversity Alliance for Science (DA4S) today, October 1st following the leadership of our amazing outgoing President Jinus Moghbeli.

During the last three years I’ve worked as Chair of the Stakeholders Vertical, overseeing Membership, Mentorship and Sponsorship. Through collaboration provided a roadmap for growth and increased value proposition for our members; strengthened the mentoring program and stabilized DA4S sponsorships, vital to our future. I learned a lot about what our members need and want and what we need to deliver in the future to remain relevant in an everchanging global economy.

As incoming President, in working with the Board of Directors, my goal is to develop and deliver advanced programming that accelerates supplier’s preparation for working with customers in the life sciences, to continue to provide innovative venues that bring them together and identify alliance partners to that end.

Assisting me in achieving this goal is a board powered 100% by volunteer DA4S members. Please join me in welcoming Kristin Bentsen, Todd Bittiger, Lynne Churchill, Beth Crouse, Joyce Eggers, Al Limaye, Scott Rauscher and David Riccardi, our new board members who begin their tenure with me today. Each one has a specific area of focus, and each brings a diversity of thought, talent and passion to the board.

We’re kicking our term off with the sold-out Midwest GEO Cluster in Chicago on October 9th, focusing on ‘All Things Security’, a day long program focused on Cybersecurity, Security Assessments, Mitigating Hacks and Financing data protection measures. Just 3 years ago, the Cluster was simply an idea on paper, it’s evident of a lot of hard work by DA4S volunteers to see it launching next week. I look forward to more game changing ideas in our future.

Sincerest Gratitude,

Kathy April Rush
