President’s Letter – April 2018

Dear members, colleagues, and friends,

By now, I hope you are all experiencing many positive changes within Diversity Alliance For Science, related to our MEMBER BENEFITS. We continue to strive finding further opportunities and adding value to our members’ experience.

Our West Coast Conference held in February was a success and contained many educational sessions, support for the local community, Corporate/Supplier expo, matchmaking and hopefully a lot of FUN and networking opportunities! ~90% of the attendees responding to our survey, were very satisfied /satisfied with their overall conference experience!

Today, we are in the process of preparing for our East Coast Conference, to be held June 5-7, 2018 in Newark, NJ. This event will include 1:1 matchmaking sessions, speakers, several workshops, expo, and our annual awards program. If you want to apply for the 1:1 matchmaking session you must be registered prior to May 1, 2018!

Our Awards Program recognizes corporations and individuals who are supporting diversity in the life science industries. I encourage you to review the award categories and nominate a company or colleague who deserves recognition. Award winners will be announced at our Conference in June.

Here are a few new added benefits for our MEMBERS:

  • We have dedicated the first day of the conference, June 5 to our MEMBERS ONLY and will be holding different sessions and activities! Registration is open now and details are being added on a weekly basis. Be sure to register soon, as this conference sells out every year.
  • We have a slate of webinars for MEMBERS ONLY scheduled for 2018 to help our members learn more about the industry and increase their successes. Please monitor emails for details on upcoming online events.
  • Finally, we are very excited about our new membership portal, powered by Knnected. Those of you at the West Coast Conference got a sneak peak, but this platform will allow supplier members to provide relevant details about their products/services, and allow corporate members to both view and review services of supplier members. We will have webinars in Q2 to share more about this new platform and how to maximize it for your company.

I am sure that you agree with me that none of this would have been possible without the ongoing dedication of our staff, board of directors, and committee volunteers. These individuals help drive the organization forward and support our mission and vision. I hope to see many of you at the Conference in June and as always, if there is anything we can do to support you, please contact us!

All my best,

Jinus Moghbeli
