PAVING THE PATH TO HEALTH EQUITY

Everyone deserves quality healthcare- regardless of who you are, what you look like or where you live. But some may not have equal access to treatment because of factors beyond their control, like their race, sexual identity and age. This disparity is what healthcare corporations are working toward eliminating. During this panel discussion, moderated by Charlotte Owens, Head of R&D Center for Global Patient and Scientific Affairs, you will hear from representatives of these healthcare corporations on how they view health equity, how they are paving the road to health equity into what their companies do, and how enhancing supplier diversity can impact the social determinants of health.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

Today’s businesses are working in a world of crisis and disruption – from the pandemic, to Ukraine crisis, to inflation. The challenges small business owners face are many and may not even have a known solution. With this is in mind, what is the best way to help navigate this uncertainty and instilling confidence in your employees?

Our session will be focused on building out the symbiotic relationship between professional development and change management, because traditional mindsets may put these capabilities at opposite ends of the spectrum – but we know successful leaders recognize that these are not mutually exclusive concepts. Businesses don’t have to choose between performing now and adapting later, they can both be actioned on at once. We will provide real life stories and tactics that business can act on immediately; our goal is to bring the awareness around why it’s vital for the small business owner to be able to interconnect purpose, performance and influence as a collective. We’ll share why horizontal leadership is more effective than vertical leadership because just driving results is not enough, leaders must also inspire and engage their employees to maximize employee output.

Confused about Sustainability, ESG and CSR?

This session / panel will provide you with the basic knowledge and the foundation for understanding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) – what is it and why is it important?

ESG is an approach to evaluate a corporation’s commitment to social goals that go beyond the corporation’s goals of maximizing profits on behalf of its shareholders. This includes achieving a certain set of environmental and social (in support of social movements) goals, as well as a set of goals related to how the corporation is governed, consistent with the diversity, equity and inclusion movements.

In this session, you will learn how to assess the most important impacts of your organization to society, environment and workplace, how to build a business case for ESG in your organization and how to set goals and report on them utilizing the most appropriate standards for your industry and organization.
